Add named connections section to db to db flow

I make loops via the “field value function” script, running a command in another connection for each row in my source, but this doesn’t work if a: the other connection isn’t referenced in a step in the flow or b: the other connection gets renamed in the future. If I could add a named connection to the flow, without needing to add a nested flow to my list, that would work around this issue. Maybe as a section in the parameters tab of the flow instead of its own ‘connections’ tab to not confuse others.

Alternatively, is there a way to add a named connection to a flow via script?
